If I stare at nothing, then nothing happens

Depression can consume you. Leaving you blank with no desire to paint yourself anything. You just want to zone out, read content, reblog over and over because it's something simple and nice. Repetitive. Rinse. Repeat. Watch the funny cats. Read about funny stories. They make you smile, but the smile fades. Always. Then it comes back. There it goes. Rinse. Repeat. A cycle that you don't quite want to break. Because then you'd be left without depression, which at this point has become a blanket. A blanket that you can use to say "I can't do this", "I can't do that"... because without depression, what can you blame? Yourself. Then you realize you're nothing. That what you could accomplish wasn't held back because of some kind of mental illness or chemical imbalance. It was because you literally cannot do it. No one to blame. You're to blame. So snuggle further into the blanket, let it warm you. Mindlessly scroll through content, watching as others accomplish and complete their lives. That's okay. You can do small things. Small victories. It's better than nothing. Better than failing in a continuous cycle. Rinse. Repeat. Break. Go back to funny cats, funny vines, funny stories. Safer, better that way. You can't fail, won't fail, and it's okay. It'll be okay.
